This three-day festival weekend includes multiple experiences that you can participate in with your car or attend just as a spectator. There’s something for everyone to enjoy at this family-friendly event.
The fun starts on Friday night under the stars around Lake Mirror Park at the Budweiser Hot Rod Rendezvous, kicking off the weekend with a show of hot rods, a live outdoor concert, car parade, food, and a new car unveiling. The event this year will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County and is open to Hot Rods, Custom Cars & any other cars interested in participating.
(Display cars must pre-register. Event is free for spectators.)
Classic Cars, Wooden Boats, Amphicars, and multiple live entertainment experiences all add to the color and excitement of the Saturday car show event. Food vendors and live musical performances throughout the day provide the finishing touches on this popular Central Florida festival. You won’t want to miss the picture-perfect waiter parade as tuxedo-clad servers deliver lunch from The Terrace Hotel to the concours participants on Lake Mirror at noon. As you make your way around the show, be on the lookout for artists capturing scenes from the day during the Plein Air Quick Draw competition and art exhibit. You can check out all the entries and winners, and even purchase a piece of artwork, at the Lakeland Art Guild tent, located within Kryger Overlook Park.
The streets of downtown Lakeland will be closed to accommodate nearly 500 collector cars for the MIDFLORIDA Auto Show, which is open to collector cars of all types, ages and preparations. Vehicles will be displayed in groups of similar makes and models. Marque-specific car clubs are encouraged to register and attend. If 10 or more car club members attend, we make every effort to reserve space to keep the club on display as a unit.
Around mid-morning, we’ll be featuring a talk with the fascinating owner of the downtown feature car, the Pagani Huayra – Mr. Alan Jay Wildstein. Everyone will want to take a picture of this incredible car and hear all about its amazing features.
Be sure to include a stop at Munn Park to check out the kids’ area. There will be music, activities & games to interest young and old alike, so there’s something for the whole family. And you won’t want to miss the awards ceremony for the downtown portion of the show, commencing at 2:00 p.m. in front of the MIDFLORIDA stage.
Lake Mirror Park
The Lake Mirror Concours takes place along the promenade surrounding Lake Mirror and is the featured event of the weekend. Approximately 125 premium classic automobiles arrive by invitation to be evaluated by a team of highly qualified judges. All applicants for the Concours are carefully reviewed and must be pre-approved by our selection committee. Due to the higher standards of the Concours group, additional information may be requested during registration. Several factors are taken into consideration for accepting a vehicle into the Concours:
- Manufactured in 1972 or earlier and fits into one of the classes
- Original appearance, or restored to original and period-correct presentation
- Quality and condition of the car, as well as previous awards won by the vehicle

Space restrictions require us to limit the number of categories as well as the number of cars in each category. The red carpet awards ceremony at the Lake Mirror Amphitheater begins at 3:00 p.m.
Don’t miss out on the Road Rally….the final treat of the weekend. Entrants enjoy a meandering morning drive through the Central Florida countryside culminating with lunch at an undisclosed location. It’s no fun if you know where you’re supposed to end up! The unexpected route is approximately 40-50 miles long with scenic views and challenging questions along the way. All types of cars (even daily drivers!) are welcome, but everyone must pre-register, have a valid driver’s license, and bring proof of insurance. Prizes are awarded to the entrants with the most correct answers, but there will also be door prizes for lucky ticket holders. This event wraps up around 1:00 p.m.
